HIFU

High-intensity focused ultrasound

HIFU is short for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound.

The waves emitted with each pulse of the device act on a specific layer of the skin, allowing for the heating of this layer which will produce a stimulation of new collagen and elastin in the coming months, tightening the skin. When the pulse is performed on the fat cell, it is able to destroy the cell and burn the localized fat.

There are various HIFU devices available, however not all have the necessary medical power for the intended purpose.

  • What is it for?

  • The main function of HIFU is to treat skin laxity (since it acts on the SMAS, a layer of muscle that allows the skin to remain taut), as well as treat fat. Therefore, it is ideal for:
  • Defining the jawline;
  • Burning localized fat and cellulite;
  • Treating double chin and submental fat;
  • When a non-surgical facial lifting effect is desired.
